Bank of America Credit Card Transaction Update

I am running Quicken 2010 and when I try to download credit card transaction (any of the cards). The message I get is

Quicken is currently unable to verify the financial institution information for this download. Please try again later.

I have tried it a few times, but it does not work. BofA people say what one can expect -- upgrade Quicken. However, I am still able to download chequeing and savings account transactions.

I always directly download from the bank site. I go to the account and ask for the transactions to to downloaded to "Quicken 2010 or above". Quicklauncher launches Quciken and the transaction come down. This no longer works. After Quicken opens, I get the error message.

Updating *from* Quicken also does not work. I open Quicken and hit update -- and nothing happens.

Any ideas, other than upgrading?

thanks mt

Upgrading is the only way. Q2010 has been sunsetted.

I concur with John that you'll need to upgrade.

HOWEVER, it is not necessary to upgrade to 2013 that you buy from Intuit.

Buy 2012 from Amazon/eBay/etc. You'll have 2 years until you need to upgrade again and you'll get a MUCH better price than buying 2013.

I've been following this practice for several (maybe, 6) years now.

Thanks. But, poking around, I notice one interesting thing. The account does not exist in the drop down list in the "One Step Update" item on the "Update" button. Why would it suddenly disappear? Worked fine till a month ago.

Am not sure that this is the problem. If Quicken is trying to check the information, sure, it does not exist! How can one get it back on the list.

One other fact. If I try to update using WebLink, a window pops up that shows all the other accounts, but this particular credit card account is not there. And, if I go to the Overview of the the account and click on "Change Online Services" is says that it is a Manual Account. But, if I try to Activiate One Step Update, it asks for all the old information (all present, like account number, password, etc.) and a nickname for the account. I cannot use the current name as "it is already taken". So, it knows and doesn't know about the account.

How I change the Online Service for this account?

thanks mt

Thanks. If I saw it, I did not read it! They pester you with constant garbage for this or that, that I gave up reading things. As it is, it is the slowest application to load and one has to click through various "No"s, "Later"s and "Never"s every time one opens Quicken.

Have to make a call .... in the end, the only number I ever use is the yearly charitable contributions that I need to stuff into Sch A. May be a good occasion to break the Quicken habit .....

Thanks again.
