Can Quicken do this?

Came across this spreadsheet based expense tracker in link below

formatting link
In some ways this tracker can do things that are more useful to me such as the "envelope" approach

can someone more savvy abt Quicken look this excel based app above and tell me if Q2006 can be made to act like it? Do everything it can?

Without looking at it, I can tell you this ---- Quicken cannot do everything Excel can do. Excel cannot do everything Quicken can do. I have my doubts (serious doubts) about this new invention. I use both Quicken & Excel and have to desire to explore "younee"

Guessing that the 'to' in the sentence above was meant to be 'no'. I'm also guessing that 'younee' is an abbreviation for the link you provided to youneedabudget'

You probably won't have too many takers here checking out the excel based app you linked. Especially as it costs $19.95 to do so.

Personally, I found the website itself confusing. I am sure I would have less patience with a spreadsheet based on the author's budgeting rules.

Using Quicken I 'budget' with the calendar and scheduled transactions. It has worked for me for over a decade.

One thing I like abt the spreadsheet based program I mentioned early is that you basically spend the money you earn this month for NEXT month

IOW.... say you earn 2k in June.... the sheets tell you that you have 2k to spend for July. and each acct or category has a balance and you can watch it shrink as you use that money up. example...you have a budget of say 450 for coffee at local Starbucks. Each day as you buy a coffee you slowly see that $50 'consumed".

Now maybe Quicken can do all this... but its not so apparent if it can
