?? Changing Quicken.Com Member ID & Pwd

Hello,

I would like to change my Quicken.Com member ID & pwd, and I know that I can do this via one-step-update. I seem to remember that sometime ago, changing this login info caused a chain reaction of difficulty. Now perhaps the probs were due to *how* the change was accomplished. It's been too long ago for me to remember the details ... just that there were headaches!! ;-)

Anyway, before I go ahead and take the plunge, I wondered if anyone can comment on whether this process has caused issues, and if so, how to avoid them if possible.

Thx and Regards,

Margaret

If I remember correctly, you don't really change you just create a new one. I believe there was a problem in doing this with Portfolio's and sync with Quicken.com (it would not transfer to the new ID). As far as I remember, you old ID is not deleted. I do not know if this has changed. I encountered this in the early part of this decade.

Thx Oilcan, I think before I attempt changing my login, I'll continue my research.

Thx Oilcan, your post gave me the info I needed to finally get this done right. I wanted to keep my existing account (rather than creating a new one), but change the ID & pwd for security reasons. Perhaps this is old news, but I thought I'd post the solution in case it's not. :-)

I logged into my Quicken/Intuit account and changed the ID & password there. Then I ran Quicken and told it I wanted to change my ID & pwd the next time I ran OSU. Upon running OSU, I simply "re-registered" Quicken using the new ID & pwd, rather than creating the new account. (There are two options.) Voila! It worked great.

So thx for that vital bit of information.

Regards,

Margaret
