I thought that Intuit had improved the programs to install newer and updated software, so I don't understand your problem.

AFAIK, installation problems are covered at no charge at the intuit help phone or websites. If necessary, tell them that you want a comlete refund since the software doesn't work as advertised on your system.

If all else fails, consider that backups are your friends, preferably an "image" type backup of your hard drive . Reboot before and after making this type of backup. In your case of a balky system, I would also pull the power cord and any ethernet connections, wait 5 minutes, then reboot. This will allow all RAM to completely discharge. Newer computers are like your TV - turning them off makes them go into some kind of low power shut down, but they are not truly totally OFF!

Reboot again, then search for any files/folders intuit or quicken and, if appropriate, delete them all. Make sure you are seeing hidden and system files.

Use a registry cleaner (I like Rosecitysoftware's Registry First Aid), or regedit to find and delete everything intuit or quicken. Reboot often to make sure something doesn't reinstall itself.

When all done try the fresh install, after a reboot, with no internet connection, and with AV off. If that doesn't work, you're SOOL.

Make sure to trun AV on again.

Have you gotten any error messages to suggest that 2006 remnants are causing problems?

Try disabling all anti-spyware and anti-virus programs, or installing

2007 in Safe Mode.

OK here is what it does. I totally uninstalled quicken 2006 rebooted then started the 2007 QH&B from CD.

Appears all goes well then stops n the progess bar about 3 blocks prior to being doen. I can let it sit forever.. no change it just stops. Then if I open task manager and close the program bindcontent.exe quicken finished off the progress bar checks for an update then appears and says it is done .. yet when I try to start the program it erros saying some files (not data files) are corrupt and I need to reinstall the 2007 again. I do that and exactly same thing again..

Any ideas?? As I say when I kill b>Dan wrote in
