How To Completely Remove the Old Quicken Bill Pay Service
Found at:
The old option for "Quicken Billpay" (billpay provided by a non-financial institution third party) has been discontinued, and no longer has (or can have) any effect on Quicken accounts.
But what used to be called "Online Billpay" (NOT the same as the old "Quicken Billpay") is now called "Bank Billpay" and is still available from any financial institution that chooses to offer it. It requires the Direct Connect download method (which the old "Quicken Billpay" did not require).
While I fail to see what meaningful harm the Check# dropdown "Send Online Payment" choice creates, that choice can be eliminated by De-Activating the account for "Bank Bill Pay" (see the Online Services tab in the Edit Account Details tab for the account).
Quicken accounts that are not Activated for Bank Billpay, do NOT offer the "Send Online Payment" in the Check# dropdown.
[If the "Send Online Payment" choice remains in a Quicken account after the old third-party provided "Quicken Billpay" feature has been discontinued, that means that the financial institution offers the ability to send online billpay transactions from Quicken. Some financial institutions charge Quicken users to employ the capability to send online billpay transactions from Quicken to the financial institution ... but not all do.]
