The reconcile message that appears to cause so much unwarranted consternation among some Quicken users certainly could be made a bit clearer (*), but Quicken users could also take a little more time to think about the issue before rushing to pretend that Quicken has a problem. None of the posters in the above discussion appears to have made the slightest effort to determine what might cause the message to be displayed: that information is available, and has been available for MANY years (**). [If no search turned up the answer, that would not warrant users assuming there is a Quicken problem: just present a complete and accurate description of the problem, and ask others for an explanation.]

The fact that some Quicken users may never have seen the message before, is no reason for those users to assume the message information is incorrect.

While making the meaning of the message clearer will likely help some users avoid making false assumptions; sadly, I doubt it will prevent all users from doing so.

[ (*) One possible simple change to the Quicken message would be this: "There are no ELIGIBLE uncleared items to reconcile".] [ (**) Quicken Windows users would be well served to bookmark this page - containing links to useful Quicken Community Windows FAQ's:

On that page, there is a link that pertains to the above Community discussion. The link is in the Reconcile section and has a title of "How does Quicken determine which transactions qualify for a reconcile?" Here's the url:
