My software programs are on Drive "C" in Program Files. Conventional. My data files [for each program ] are kept on Drive "D". Thus I can back up that drive - only - and protect all of my data.
Quicken H&B 2007 stores all data on Drive "C". I can't find any option to place the data file(s) anywhere else.
Searched the 'Groups', searched Quicken forums: no joy. Emailed Quicken a question - no reply.
So, can somebody please help? How can I get Q H&B 2007 to keep the data on Drive "D" in, say, "Quicken Data" ??

Based on Q2005 Deluxe with two virtual disk drives. (My Q2007 is installed on a pc with only one hard drive, but I'm reasonably certain it will work the same.)
1.) Open an existing Quicken data file (say C:\QuickenData\QDATA.QDF), and do a Quicken backup to D:\QuickenData\QDATA.QDF. If you no longer want any data on the C: drive, have Quicken delete the C: drive file.
2.) Open an existing Quicken data file, and use Quicken's "Copy" feature to copy the file from the C: drive to the D: drive. Delete the C: drive file as desired.
3.) Tell Quicken to create a "New" Quicken file; Browse to the drive and folder where you want the file and tell Quicken what name to give to the file.
4.) Use Windows Explorer to copy/paste (or move) the fileset (QDATA.*, if the Quicken file name is QDATA) from the C: drive to the D: drive; use Windows Explorer (or Quicken) to delete the old fileset as desired.
Generally Quicken remembers the name of the file that it had open the last time you exited Quicken, so if you only have the one file, just have Quicken open it once from the D: drive, and Quicken should open that same file each subsequent time you run Quicken.
You can also place a shortcut to the file on your desktop and use that shortcut to start Quicken.
Or you can modify the Quicken program shortcut, putting the fully qualified name of the data file (with the QDF extension) following the Quicken program name (qw.exe) in the "Target" field in the icon's "Properties" (at least one space between program name and file name).
I've not used Q H&B, but I think this behavior is just like other Quicken Versions.
We don't actually tell Q "where to store" the data files. But you can use Q's File | File Operations | Copy and browse to the location (D;\Quicken Data) you want to use. Then Exit Quicken. In Windows Explorer, browse to that location and click on the QDF file. That should load Q with your data file. From then on, until you change it, D;\Quicken Data should be the default location for your fileset, and simply clicking the Q desktop icon should load Q and your file.
After you've made the switch, your weekly automatic backups should go into the new folder, D:\Quicken Data\BACKUP, which Q will automatically create.
You will then want to use File | File Operations | Delete to remove the original fileset (which will quickly be out of date), along with its automatic backup sets (probably in C:\Program Files\Quicken\BACKUP), but you may want to keep those backups for a few weeks- just in case - until you have a full set in the new location.
