I seem to have misplaced my Quicken 2015 Deluxe CD that I was going to install on my wife's computer. :-)
If I buy the 2016 version and download it to her machine, can I use the downloaded file to upgrade the 2015 version on mine?
Thanks.

You don't "update" Quicken versions: you just install the new version (which will uninstall the old version). You can install Quicken on as many as 3 computers in your household. Q2016 will convert your Q2015 "data" to Q2016 "data".

Then I copy that downloaded file to my computer and install it?
Right?

It doesn't matter how the Quicken install file gets on your pc. You can copy it from another pc, or you can download it from Quicken directly to cifferent pc. You "run" that install file on each pc where you want to run Quicken.

I'm wondering why quicken deluxe 2016 is so much less expensive than the 2015 version.
Noy sure it matters much, does it? Q 2017 is going to be available within the next month or so. I just got a promotional email from the new company about it.
Andrew, could you provide details from your promotional email so that I can contact the company directly?
I was almost going to order the 2016 version (Canada) because I'm so fed up with problems I've been having with the v2014. But I just saw your email and if Q2017 will soon be available in the US, perhaps it won't take much longer in Canada. But I've searched online and on the Staples websites. The US site shows it, but the Canadian one does not - I've just called Staples, they have no info about it at all.
Thank you, vcardx

Sure, sorry I can't help you about the availability up north, but here's the link that the email points to which is what I was referring to:
