EmigrantDirect: Having Trouble Getting Statements?

Hello,

Each month I save my EmigrantDirect (and other bank) statement(s) in PDF format. I got my 9/2006 ED statement saved OK as well as my credit union, credit cards, etc. I've also managed to save all my 10/2006 statements with the exception of EmigrantDirect. It's not a PDF reader/printer problem, as all the other sites work fine, I have the latest Acrobat Reader as well as PaperPort 11's PDF writer, and of course, that of QP2007. (I.e., the only 10/2006 statement I don't have is ED's.)

Anyway, my problem with ED is that the statement drop-down list (where you choose the statement to view/save/print) is blank. There are *no* statements listed, even though they say right on that page that statements are saved for 24 mos. I have monthly statements dating back to 6/2005, when I opened my ED account, and last month I could see quite a number of statements in that drop-down list. (So I know it worked until recently.)

The only difference in my machine is that I've upgraded to IE7 and FF2.0. (Since I run a few FF extensions, I even tried getting to my ED statement using FF's safe mode with all exts disabled.) Still no go. There are no statements in the drop-down "choose a statement" list whether I use IE7, FF2.0, or FF2.0 in safe mode.

Before I contact ED's support (not the greatest), I thought I would ask here in case anyone else is having the same prob -- or knows that ED is having a prob with their statements right now. Anyone?

TIA and Regards,

Margaret

ED is having more than just trouble with their statements. It's been my experience that ED is (from time to time) aggregiously slow. It's been so bad for me that I closed my ED account and opened up an account with someone else.

Hmm, I haven't had any trouble till recently. In fact, I just finished writing a support request on ED's web site, only to click "Submit" and have the app generate an error. Of course, I lost all my text. I usually "copy" it before hitting submit just in case, but this time I was in a hurry and forgot. Maybe I'll go back to ING Direct but I like ED's rates better. Guess I should call ED's support line first though.

My 09/2006 statement was the last I was able to view and save, and at that time, there were many months listed in the statement drop-down box. I'm getting all other statements (PDF), CU and CCs w/o probs. The only diff on my machine, is that I'm now running FF2.0 and IE7. Same problem whether I run FF2 in safe mode, too. Ah well....

BTW, where'd you move your account? I have so little activity that I don't require direct download for online savings accts. How about HSBC for this one? I don't need checking, etc., so I guess that leaves Citibank out.

Thx and Regards,

Margaret

I moved it to E-loan. They don't have *any* download capability - not web, not directconnect. Nuthin. But, just like you, I only enter 1 transaction into this account per month: interest. I can handle doing that manually.

Well I called ED and got my statement issue fixed. It was partly user error and partly a weirdness on the ED web site. I have a CD and a savings account with them. Even though I was selecting the savings account and then the statement tab, it was defaulting to the CD, which is new enough to not have statements yet. The rep said no matter which account you select, it always defaults to the newest account for statements. There's a drop-down box on the right side of the site window where you can choose the correct account. Then the statement tab pulls up statements for the correct account. I just didn't notice that even though I selected my savings account, it was changing to the CD account. Could be a better design, but I also should have looked closer. The ED tech rep was very courteous and helpful.

Anyway, just an update.

Regards,

Margaret
