The File dropdown menu lists a bunch of files to be opened, and some of these files are now invalid for me. Where is this list maintained again? Thanks!

Try here for Q2009 and Vista: C:\(user)\appdata\roaming\intuit\quicken\config\quser.ini

Subject says "Q2008", though I did not mention it's on Win2k.

Do a search for quser.ini. Just make sure your computer is set to show hidden files and folders.
On my XP machine it is located under Documents and Settings\{userid}\Application Data\Intuit\Quicken\Config.
