Quicken File List

Mar 12, 2006 2 Replies

Some time ago, I installed Quicken 2006 and found that the list of files visible when clicking on File (or alt F) was a "constant" four files.

In a newsgroup, I was provided a way to limit this list to what ever I wanted. The method was to create a new file with a specific name and extension, and put it in a specific library for Quicken to use. The contents indicated the names of the files to appear in the list. Alas, I have forgotten all this.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about and how to limit the list of files on the File menu in Quicken 2006? There is a way!!!

Thanks, Bernie

The list of recently used files is contained in the file 'QUSER.INI'.

Do a search using explorer. You can edit this file using a word processor.

I would prefer using Notepad, just so you don't introduce all the crazy formatting stuff of a wordprocessor. It's too easy to forget to use save as plain text.

Just my opinion.
