"File not backed up"

Using Q Prof & Home 2006. I had been backing up on a regular basis to an external HD. I have not noticed that I have been getting a message "File Not Backed Up". This may have been going oin for some time with me reading the message as "File Backed Up". I have tried backing it up to the C Drive and to some flash cards with no results. At one time I signed up for a trial use oif the on-line backup but did not sign up. Everytime I click backup I get the message that the program can't find the software for the online backup.

I have several files on Quicken--my personal, my father and for a non-profit I act as treasurer for. The problem is with my personal file.

Any suggestions?
