Help With File Menu

When opening the File Menu several recently used files are shown at the bottom. In my case 3 files are listed. Is there a way to modify the number of files shown? I would like to reduce the number to 2. I do not see anything in Preferences that covers this. Thanks for any and all help.

This question has been answered many times before. I believe (but my memory is sometimes faulty) you have to find the relevant Quicken.ini file and edit it (quicken closed). But IMNSHO it is easier to make shortcuts to the QDF files of interest and start Quicken by double clicking on 1 of them.

Hi, trvlnmny.

Han is close, but the "cigar" is here (for me - substitute your own User name for my "RC"):

C:\Users\RC\AppData\Roaming\Intuit\Quicken\Config\QUSER.INI

I'm not sure if [RecentFiles] is hard-coded to 4 lines, but I think you can have almost any number you want. Just delete the unwanted lines - or edit them to blank out everything after the "=" signs.

You didn't mention your Windows version; WinXP or Vista might be slightly different, but you should be able to find QUSER.INI.
