Well, I've bought pretty near every Quicken since about 1990. Quicken Premier 2005 R.5 is quite a disappointment. Maybe you can help me to figure out how to fix what I have. I've tried the Quicken help desk and I've sent a bug report. The Quicken help desk was slow to tell me to pay for my help. Sigh.
- I installed Quicken 2005 and imported all of the Quicken 2003 data. The data extends back to (about) 1990.
- In my Traditional IRA most of the account values seem to have been copied over, along with Placeholders. I suppose that I need to enter the Placeholder data, but did I do something wrong? I would have thought that the old data would have been sufficient.
- Roth IRA Account. I bought and sold some shares. I thought that the transaction should be 'Mutual Fund Name Change'. What happened was that all of the transactions in the account were changed and now I'm unable to change them back and correct the problem. Any idea as to what to do? I would like to restore the original mutual fund name, sell all shares in it, and then purchase a new mutual fund. All in the same account.
- I have an IRA with a company which uses Hewitt Associates. When I installed Quicken 2005, Quicken would not set up online updates, even though Hewitt is one of the listed financial institutions. Since that time, I have tried to edit the account information to see if I can turn on online downloading. No luck. Can't seem to find the magic button. Anything that I can do?
- I am a wise and sagacious investor who in the last several weeks saw my 'Net Worth by Year' on the 'Financial Overview' page increase from an overstated Million to Million. Now it's time to collect the money. Any idea how to collect or fix the problem? Net Worths for 2003 and 2004 are missing. (I only wish I had the Million to start with even though the Million is more attractive.)
- In the 'Net Worth by Year Summary' on the same 'Financial Overview' page I have Net Worths for 2003, 2004, and YTD. The Net Worth for 2003 seems OK but the remainder have either very large numbers or '*'s in place of numbers (see above).
Any help with any of this would be a help. I don't know what to do.
RANT: Quicken has really come down in service and quality of their product.
thanks
