Hewiitt Associates Problems?

Aug 21, 2007 5 Replies

Anyone else having problems accessing their 401(K) account via direct connect to Hewitt Associates? Tried deleting online and reestablishing online access, no luck. Tried creating BRAND NEW Q file and a new account within, no luck either. OL-292-B.

Called Hewitt, they said they were unaware of any problems. Q 2007 Premier, XP .

Seems ok (of course, after I post) this AM.

Yes, I am having the same problem and took the same actions you referenced in your original message. I had been doing daily scheduled one step updates for over 6 months and the last successful update was around the end of July, first of August. I can't pin point the exact date as the history was lost when I disabled online updates for this account and re-enabling did not work - OL-332-A. When I called Hewitt, they said they didn't understand why it wasn't working either and really have no way to get direct support for the web site or financial software interfaces. I am also using Q 2007 Primier.

The only thing that I did between the time that it hadn't work (on many many days) and when it seems to be ok was a VALIDATE on my file that did indeed pick up a few errors, although nothing that seemed to be pinpointed towards the 401K account in Q for Hewitt.

Maybe you could take a back up, try a validate, and see if you have the same luck as I did? Like I had said, I don't know what 'fixed', but something did!

I had a problem yesterday. I didn't make any changes, and mine started working again. I had attributed the initial failure to my rolling over the 401K balance to a Vanguard IRA. Perhaps it was just a coincidence.

The rollover turned out to be a little aggravating. Hewitt offered to mail a check to me, but made out to Vanguard F/B/O. They would not send it to Vanguard, or wire the money. The check will take about 10 days. Of course, during that time, my entire 401K will earn nothing. They would not even accept payment for overnight delivery. I'm glad to be rid of them.

Oddly enough, mine is working again starting today. It was working before 8/1/07, and is now working again as of today (8/23/07). From yesterday, I have changed nothing to my knowledge, not even a prior onestep update, so no new quicken fix. Your suggestion re: Validate would have been my next step, but no longer necessary. Perhaps, a solar flare, or we exited an asteroid belt or more than likely the problem calls finally filtered down to the dark room housing their tech support. Either way, mine works now and I am happy!
