How to default to a single pmt?

Using Q2005 Premiere H&B on W2K

I would like to learn if there is any way to set it up so that when entering a scheduled transaction it will default to a frequency of Only Once and so that it will not remind me or remind me only on the day it is due.

Also, Is there any way to get an abbreviated transaction entry pane like the one on Q2002? Most if not all of the transactions I want to enter are singles and all the other stuff just gets in the way. I find keyboard navigation in Q2005 in general to be pretty inadequate. I would like to enter a sched. trans. without having to reach for the mouse but that's not happening as far as I can see.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Take a look at the 'Create Scheduled Transaction' window. Last line has options for terminating a scheduled transaction.

Thanks but if that's the last line in the Scheduling box then I've seen it. What I'm looking for is some way to set the Frequency: box in that window to default to "Only Once" rather than "Monthly" which it defaults to now.

See that I mis-read your original post - in answer to your query, do not know of any way to change this default.

Why would you want to go through all the hassle of setting up a scheduled payment if it happens once only?

Simply enter it in your register and be done with it.

I schedule the pmt when billed and pay it when due.

Point is that it used to be much less hassle before Q decided that repeating pmts were the default. (One of the "improvements" along with reduced and inconsistent kbd shortcuts of Q2005.)
