I'm wondering if its worth the upgrade or should I just wait for a future upgrade. Is there anything outstanding? I still have one account (AIG Valic) that allows downloads only via QIF or xls. SO I am having to do that by hand a pain. Thanks Barbara
AFAIK, 2007 version does not solve or help any more with QIF than 2006 did. Check on this group or elsewhere if any improvements and/or enhancements listed are worth anything to you. Anyway, it seems to be a good idea to wait out a little for some bugs to be work out.
Up till two weeks ago, I was able to download my BoA Visa, my MBNA AAA, Fidelity, LLBean and Merrill+ cards through Express Web Connect.
I am no longer able to do EWC, either at BoA, or FIA (the new MBNA site)
I called customer support a few days ago, and was assured that I was never able to do that in the past since BoA never offered EWC to credit card only customers.
Reminds me of the old line: "Are you going to believe ME, or your own lying eyes?" ;-)

Does anyone know if this new WebConnect option works with Bank Of America? I wonder because of their SiteKey feature.
I just installed Q2007 and tried to add one step update to my BofA account (I am in the People's Republic of Massachusetts). Got an error: "Quicken was unable to update your accounts due to an error on the Quicken server...". and they advise to "try again later". We'll see when I try again tomorrow.
My hunch, though, is that BofA won't support this kind of download unless I sign up for the $10/month direct connect stuff, which I won't do.
This user is concerned that Express Web Connect is not working.
You said you were concerned because Quicken *forced* you to use One Step Update (Express Web Connect) for your Web Connect account with BofA. I find that difficult to believe; I think there are a number of people who are having trouble with Express Web Connect, who have successfully reverted to simple Web Connect downloads.
My Quicken accounts are setup for Direct downloads (One Step Update downloads) from BofA - not Web Connect downloads; but I can do a Web Connect download from them anytime. I just logon to their web site, navigate to the appropriate screen, and click the "Download" link. I can't think of any reason why you can't do the same. I think straight Web Connect downloads are available to any BofA user, anytime.
Nope, same problem. (sort of). By forced, I mean that if I want to keep everything contained in one application, my only choice is OSU with EWC. Now, it's not a huge deal to open a separate web browser to download, but shouldn't Quicken at the very least mimic the old behaviour and allow me to stay in one application?
Furthermore, even though it implies EWC will work with these accounts, it doesn't - some reports > wrote
I have Express Webconnect working. The trick is just as Bob indicated
- start from the Bank of America site. The site key has no impact. When you download your first set of transactions it will prompt you to setup Express Webconnect. You will get an error message, but don't stop. You will eventually be prompted to answer one of the three questions that you provided BofA when you setup your web access.
There are indications that you will only be able to download transactions once a statement is created. I can't confirm as I done use these cards on a regular basis. If this is true, it is a step backwards.
I actually have two web accounts based on how they determined the primary account holder - my spouse or me. Both are setup and are working as far as I can tell.
Citibank, JPMorgan Chase, Discover and American Express offer fairly stable downloads with transactions more "real time".
If you use the calendar function, be aware that there has been a loss of functionality there.
There is the ability to show a running balance graph at the bottom of the calendar window. One used to be able to show the sum balance of any assortment of accounts. Now it is limited to cash accounts only.
I used to total up my credit card and cash accounts so I could see the real running balance for my short-term accounts. However, I have not been able to convince Quicken 2007 to include the credit card balances in that graph.
I don't know what other features have been removed going from Q2006 to Q2007. I suspect there may be others.
I don't use the Calendar function, *BUT* in my Q2007H&B, I can go to the Calendar options, and "Select calendar accounts."
By default, all my cash and investment accounts are included.
None of my asset accounts are included, but I can choose to include them.
I keep all my credit cards under "Liabilities," and they're all included.
Interestingly, my mortgage is not automatically included, but once again, I can choose to include it.

That category is not included in Q2007's calendar, but it was in Q2006. Intuit has admitted they removed it intentionally, but no one can give a reason why.
Go figure.
Thanks, though, for the tip about liability. I may move the credit cards over to that category so that I can include them in the calendar.
In the meantime, I have become more suspicious about upgrading Quicken, now that Intuit has told me they remove features for no reason at all.
oops, no can do. I'd have to delete and recreate the credit card account to move it.
I'm now back to my original concern: Cash Flow - credit card does not show up on the claendar graph, and it used to before I unknowingly downgraded from Q2006 to Q2007.
1) Create a dummy Cash account called Credit Card Balances.
2) For each one of your credit cards with a balance, create a transaction for today called "Credit Card Balances," or whatever.
3) Pay the full amount of that credit card and choose your dummy Cash account as the category.
4) Then you can choose to display that dummy Cash account, and have your outstanding credit card debt as part of the Account Balance graph.
Bob
P.S. Or, if you don't need precise numbers, just create a post-dated draft from your payment account for roughly the outstanding debt, and select "Show Ending Balance in bar."

I worked for me too...with one gotcha. I re-imported my 2006 file to
2007, disabled all online features for my four BofA accounts, closed Q2007 and then reopened it. I then opened in turn each of the QFX files I had downloaded for each of my four accounts. So far so good, yet it refused to recognize that I had both a checking and a savings account. Depending on whether I open the Checking.QFX or Savings.QFX file first, it will enable one or the other for One Step Update - but not both. If I try to enable the other one, I get a message to the effect that "All accounts at this financial institution have already been enabled."
Oh well. Given that my sav>Whaddaya know. That worked for me! Thanks Bob and Oilcan.
