Is there a new version of Quicken doing bad things?

I did a one step update today and any transactions that are splits won't post. I tried to restore from a backup and it crashes. It happens on two different machines where I use a thumb drive between them. I tried to validate and repair and it says things are broken but won't repair. AGGGGG Anyone else having trouble?

You reap what you sow, I.e. that's what you get from HAVING to always upgrade Quicken.

Well, My Quicken 2002 is rock solid. Why tempt fate by "up" grading to a newer version? And, no, I do not need downloads from institutions--I can do that myself ACCURATELY, without ANY problems ever.

For some of us, time is money. With a large and diverse portfolio, that's why I pay Quicken to do the dirty work. With rare exception, never a glitch.

I've come to the conclusion that Sharx is pulling everyone's chain.

First of all, why would anyone constantly be monitoring this NG if one didn't really have an interest in Quicken up to date. If he used 2002, what's the point of participating here other than getting everyone excited? Pay no mind.

Secondly, if you one believes that he doesn't download because he can do it 'accurately', he also obviously must know he doesn't need to use Q at all; he could simply stay with a pencil and paper (or a spreadsheet) and just be as accurate.

So, I think he's a troll and just should be ignored becuz he can't be serious.

I've NOTED, Notan, that some of those "rare exceptions" have caused you to spend many hours on the Net seeking solutions to what COULD have been avoided in the first place. There is NO valid need to know one's total net worth to the penny on any given day of the year. Daily downloads are NOT necessary.

Or, none of the above.

Funny, I don't recall spending "many hours on the Net seeking solutions... "

Time to up your meds, huh?

Well, now that we have all decided that Sharx suffers from Rectal/ Cranial inversion, has anyone had the same issue I am experiencing? I changed USB drives around the time Q 2011 was available and it has been very slow using the drive. Not so with a computer based file. I wonder if that is part of the problem.

I have some time today to play with it (as opposed to posting it by hand) and plan to remove those split transactions and post by hand. We shall see if it was a one time glitch.

Suggestions welcome and don't pick onSharx too much. The lady and I love reading his responses over breakfast.
