Looking for a good online bank in Dallas, TX

After 19 years of being here in California I've accepted a position in Dallas, TX. This means I need to switch banks and my current bank is Union Bank of _California_ and I don't think they operate in Texas. What I need is a good bank that works with Quicken online *direct* download into Quicken. I don't want no stinking web pages or web connect as they are just a bother to me.

I have 4 (count 'em) 4 checking accounts with UBOC, 2 that I use for business, my regular high volume checking account and one that I use for my daughter's savings account.

What good banks exist in Texas that can satisfy my needs?

Thanks.

I use and recommend CompassBank. Almost everything is free. Bill pay, online banking, and even ATM is free.

They have Dallas locations.

Check out compassbank.com.

(No I don't work for them or have a vested interest)

compare with what Quicken already offers with Online Update?

Yes the ATM is free, even if you use it at stop and go's or other banks. You save your receipt and mail them in with a deposit slip to the main office. They deposit the ATM fees back to your account. (The only catch, if you want to call it that, is that you don't do this at your local branch - you have to do it by mail)

You don't have to use CompassPC with Quicken. You have direct connect and one step update same as other banks.

One thing I use CompassPC for is to view the checks. That's free also. Wife doesn't write in always and you can view both front and back.

I also set up joint accounts with my college kids and I can transfer allowances and expenses from my account to theirs. I think I could also do that through Quicken, but I just go to CompassPC.

Man I was hoping to keep away from having to use those ancient things called letters!

Hmmm... With my current bank I view checks through their web site.

I rarely overdraw due to lack of knowledge. I overdraw due to lack of funds! Sometimes you know your going under but there's not much you can do.

I have a $5K overdraft. Can I get something like that there?

Also, anybody else have any other recommendations for online savvy banks in Dallas. Compass Bank seems pretty cool but I'd like to explore all my options...

And Marc, thanks for the suggestion...
