Merge accounts from one file (QDF) to another

I'm using Quicken 2006. I have accounts set up in one instance of Quicken and want to move (copy , merge whatever) into another QDF. I see where I can export individual accounts into a .QIF file but that won't import into Quicken 2006.

Using the export/import feature I just run a test of moving an account from one QDF to another and it work fine... Here is the step I follow:

  1. Open your destination QDF file with Quicken
  2. Create the new receiving account in the destination QDF
  3. Switch to your origin QDF file with Quicken
  4. Export the account of the origin QDF into a new QIF file on your desktop
  5. Switch to your destination QDF file with Quicken
  6. Import the QIF file into the destination QDF file using the new account you setup previously
  7. If Quicken ask you to create missing category, answer yes

And of course take backup of both QDF file before starting this.
