From Deluxe to Premiere (Again)

Earlier this year, I upgraded to Quicken 06 Premier after having purchased Deluxe. Actually, it was an activation from within Deluxe which cost me (I think) $20 or so.

Well, my system crashed yesterday, so today I bought a spanking new laptop and installed Quicken Deluxe on it. I would now like to re-activate my previously purchased Premiere.

Does anyone know how I go about doing that without having to pay the $20 again? It's asking me for an "unlock" code from my original order confirmation e-mail. Unfortunately, since my system crashed, I have no way of accessing this previous e-mail.

Can anyone help me out with how to proceed with this?

Thanks!

You have no backup (BAD practice!), and your prior communications were with Intuit.

I'd say a phone call to Intuit is order, wouldn't you?

Thank you for that complete procedural explanation. It worked perfectly!

And you're now backing up your data, right?

I do believe that you're missing the point.

Data backups won't do squat in this case with a software download, unless he chose the option to save the executable to a directory and then execute from that directory, and even then if I remember correctly Intuit goes out to their site to get the binaries to install.

Nope, not missing the point at all!

(I probably shouldn't have used the word, "data.")

Unless they were purchased on CD, I have backup copies of every installation program on my system.

Don't you?

And in this case, if the op had a backup of his email (data), he would have had the key he posted here looking for.
