I am using Q2000 Deluxe containing data files back to 1991 which have been converted through Q95 and Q98, finally to Q2000. I don't need the Deluxe version - it came with the computer of that time and I used it instead of buying Basic.
I recently posted a problem that I was having with Year End/Archive/Copy and received good replies. I haven't resolved the problem but have worked out a solution that I can live with. I just can't archive or copy properly any longer.
I would feel safer upgrading to a newer version and would probably go for Q2006 Basic since I don't do online financials and don't need the other bells and whistles of Deluxe. There is a lot of good info on this board but I haven't been able to piece together the answer that I'm looking for.
Question is: Will I (should I) be able to convert the above files to Q2006 Basic without any major hangup? Or will I need to go through a "step-up" version first? And, I'm not sure that Intuit provides conversion help for free although someone alluded to that in another post.
Finally, to satisfy my curiosity, can anyone tell me what year Intuit introduced CD Backup to Quicken. Just curious. Thanks, John
