Merging Investment Accounts in Q2013

I am merging one existing investment account into another existing account at my brokerage firm. What is the best way to accomplish this move in Quicken so I can maintain cost basis/transactions/details etc.? All investments going into the new existing account will be new to that account except for one investment which exists in both accounts.

Thanks in advance, Fitz

Does Deluxe have a "Shares Transferred Between Accounts" investment transaction? (Higher versions do, I can't remember if Dlx does).

That would move the current share balance to the new account, and leave the history intact in the old account, which you could then close. Subsequently, if you need that history, you could just include the old account in the report.

Thanks...this version of Q does not have that type transaction but I think I've worked the problem out. Everything looks OK so thanks for the reply.
