Moving a quicken file to a new account

Unfortunately ALL Quicken account backups are placed in the one folder specified in the setup.

My backups for the entire computer are controlled by a batch file and before backing up the Q backups are moved to separate folders using the qdf file name and also limited by quantity of files kept for each (ForeFiles...). Of course a folder can be in any location, even in a different backup so you can keep them under different passwords also.

If I understand the topologu and question correctly, why don't you put the NPO's QDF file in the cloud, like on a shared DROPBOX account or Google Drive? Away from your personal QDF files on your local drive. Even if it is managed originally using your own Quicken ID, I believe when you open it from another user, you can specify a new Quicken userid if not your own. This requires them having a copy of Quicken on the NPO's computer.

Of course, this should be relatively easy to test from both your computer as well as the NPO's once you set up access to the file from the cloud and get Quicken on the NPO's computer.

And setting up a backup/recovery process should ALWAYS be tested before you actually need to use it! That's a step a lot of people don't bother doing, thinking physical access is all that is needed.
