A small problem, I know, in comparison to what's going on, but I need help. I fell victim to a computer virus, and while almost everything was reconstituted thanks to my back-up and to System Restore, I found that Quicken didn't have anything except the Quicken program. None of my entered data, no names of accounts. I guess I have to mention that it is aout of date, out of Intuit's support, i.e., Quicken basic 99. I haven't updated because it does a fine job on my few needs. Now, I have years and years of Quicken back-ups. but can't get Quicken to open them. When I ask it to "restore back-up file" or "Import," it tells me that "one file is missing." I suppose I could download stuff from the banks, but it has entries from 1995 to the present. Some of which I need a lot. Any ideas, or where I could ask? Thanks

Forget "importing"; won't work with Quicken files.
Your Quicken data should probably consist of 3 files with extensions of QDF, QSD and QEL.
I know nothing about Q99, but newer versions of Quicken can get up and running with only the QDF file, though some data (but not transactions) would be missing.
"Restore" is the ideal way to recover a backup file, but if you can't get a restore to succeed, you could make a Windows "copy" of the Quicken files in your Quicken fileset and use Quicken to try to "Open" that copy.
