Odd Downloaded Transactions Behavior

I download transactions into Quicken 2006 from an investment account at Schwab. Each time, I get a message saying that, as to Schwab Advisor Cash Reserves (SWQXX), the number of shares in Quicken is

2,882.79 and the number of shares owned is 0. Then it suggests a placeholder entry for the "missing" shares. In fact, I have 2,882.79 shares.Any thoughts on how to fix this. I have already verified that I have the ticker symbol correct. Thank you,

Ross

This is almost certainly a problem with your financial institution; and there is no fix, other than to get the fi to change what they download. [I have the same problem with Fidelity.]

In addition to "transactions", downloads for investment accounts include your "holdings" as determined by your fi. If your fi downloads different holdings than you have in your Quicken file, Quicken will offer to enter a placeholder to correct the difference.

You can avoid seeing the offer of the placeholders by going to the Online Center, selecting your fi, clicking Options, and unchecking the option to "Compare account portfolio after download". Doing this will, however, also mean you will not get notified of ANY difference between your Quicken holdings and your downloaded holdings for that account.
