Password

Quicken (2005 Deluxe) now requires a password for my data file. A couple months ago I deleted the password and have been using the file without entering a password. Today, Quicken requires a password, and my old password does not work.

I've found that Quicken will remove the password for $10 if I send the file to them. But, what caused the program to now require a password, and will it happen again?

Thanks,

Bob

Perhaps data corruption - if you are certain you have remembered your old password correctly.

Try Validating a Quicken copy of your data.

Try reverting to your most recent backup.

Yes, my old password is one I use a lot. I tried Validation---Quicken is unable to validate the file, and told me to contact Customer Support. My most recent backup is the file I'm trying to use (long story there, but the file copy in the Quicken folder is now last year's file).

I'll wait until Monday and see what Customer Support has to say.

Many thank.

Bob
