Paycheck set up

I have a paycheck account that has been in effect since jan 01 05. I noticed that the 06 paychecks continue to add to this 05 file. Do I establish an 06 paycheck file for this?? ( I want to see the accumulation of this for the current year without doing a report) Quicken help recommends a cash flow account for savings to do this??? doesn't seem right because it appears to me that this adds to your net worth and then duplicates it again when it is deposited into my checking account. I am fuzzed out on this. TIA

If I could understand your question, I might have had a rely. As it is, I can merely remark that a paycheck is not bound by year-ends. As long as the paycheck (or any scheduled transaction for that matter) exists in a file - even a backup file - the transaction will be executed if and when you open that file. Which is why we recommend never to open your actual backup files, but rether to open a copy of the backup , or to restore the backup, which does the same thing.
