I have 2 European equities and 1 European mutual fund investments. At present I have to manually input the daily prices. Is it possible to automate the price imports please considering these are European stock markets?
But if you can find a source that will provide a properly formatted "comma separated values" (.csv) file of the prices you are looking for; Quicken can import such a file.
When Intuit had quote problems I started usintg NetStock. It can import prices, and export them to a csv file. I wonder if the authors would be willing to modify it to use that web site instead of the current one. It wouldn't hurt to ask. Here is the URL...
I've used (and suggested Netstock) on a few occasions. Mostly, I think, it's a neat little application. You can leave it running, and tell it how frequently to get prices, and look at it whenever you want to see the latest prices (the latest it can get).
One thing to beware of: the program always uses today's date for the .csv file prices ... even when it knows that the prices are not for today (a clearcut problem when you download before today's mutual fund prices are available: Netstock will get yesterday's fund prices, with yesterday's date ... but put today's date in the .csv file). I asked the developer if he would fix the problem a couple of years ago ... but he demurred, saying that he was avoiding outputtting invalid dates (huh?), and that the program was free (meaning, I suppose, that I shouldn't expect a fix).
[It's been several months since I have used the product; it's possible things have changed since then.]
I tried using Netstock and managed to get stock prices. However when I tried to obtain fund prices from UK market, I could not. I tried pointing to yahoo uk and us. Where do I get the fund Symbols from please?
I tried Fidelity, Jupiter and JP Morgan in UK Funds. None of these funds work. I tried Yahoo UK and US settings without luck. The equity stocks seem to work ok.
