Printing order?

Is there a way to change the order that Quicken display (or prints) a register in? Banks tend to put the newest transactions on top and Quick appends to the end. When I need to get things reconciled, my old brain needs to have them the same! The help info didn't show anyway to accomplish this, but one of you out there probably have some kind of trick. TIA

This would be a good enhancement request to send to Intuit. It certainly wouldn't be hard to do. I expect your problem is that the register was designed before online transactions when banks send out statements with the earliest date first.

Until Intuit adds this feature, your options are:

  1. Deal with a bank which will allow you to download transactions -- then you don't have to manually reconcile.
  2. Deal with a bank which will give you an option to sort the transaction list like Quicken.
  3. Reconcile from the paper statement rather than an online report, as statements always start with the earliest date.

Thanks for your reply, Fred. I will submit the request later today.

Changing bank would obviously work, but I picked my current bank for more significant reasons. I don't have to reconcile manually until something weird happens or I slip and trash my register and need to see the big picture. I do reconcile from the paper statement, once a month but sometimes I just don't want to wait till then and, more and more banks are eliminating paper statements.
