TTax Requirement for Internet Access

Nov 26, 2005 5 Replies

Sorry, off topic but I can't find a better ng. For some reason, the current TTax is requiring Internet access as one of its system requirements. The only reason that I can think of, is either activation or to obtain updates before filing.

Has anyone tried to install it yet that can shed some light on the Internet access (or activation) requirement? Thanks!

This is the correct group for TTax issues..

Because the software will not be final or approved for filing until the end of January. The version on the CD is just a temporary version to get you started. Its no different than in previous years.

Thanks - Before I buy it, I am hoping that they did not add any new activation scheme that prevents me from doing my return at home and my mom's return in another state (different PC) as they did a few years back. I prefer TurbTax due to its reliability, but there are a lot of decent low cost tax programs out there.

Hi, glamart.

It took Intuit only one year to learn their lesson from THAT fiasco! Thanks goodness.

Another reason that Internet access is required is to download the state program, if you have to file a state return.
