Q2006 - Deluxe vs. Permier?

Jan 27, 2006 2 Replies

Thinking about changing from Q2005 Deluxe to Q2006, and would appreciate some advice.

  1. I track investments but don't use Quicken to research them. What does Premier do for me that Deluxe doesn't? Is it worth going for Premier?

  1. Does Q2006 make it any easier to edit and change the type of an investment transaction? When a transaction downloads as a Deposit transaction in Q2005, for example, Q2005 won't allow changing the transaction type to Dividend Reinvested - you have to delete and reenter the transaction.

  2. Have people been able to get the Turbo Tax + Quicken rebate when buying Quicken from an online discount retailer?

Thanks for any help.

I can't answer your questions about Q2006, but with Q2005 Deluxe I already do what you're asking about in question #2.

My reinvested dividends are downloaded from my brokerage account as two transactions: a dividend deposit and a buy. I routinely change the dividend to a reinvestment, and delete the buy.

Some advice on this would sure be appreciated. Thanks.
