Q2006B CD

Just updated from Q2005D to Q2006B, free after rebate with my TT2005 purchase. (Some nice improvements, and AFAICS, I never use any of the deluxe features.)

One problem: couldn't come close to reading the CD on a CD/DVD combo drive. Never had a problem with any other CD before, and still don't - tested several others after the failures. (Fortunately, the CD isn't copy protected, and could be read and saved - with much creaking and groaning - on another networked machine with a much older CD drive, then recopied to my primary machine and installed.)

Has anyone else seen this? Possible QC problem at Intuit? CTinFL

I've had that when the CD/DVD has been in the heat or sun for a very long time but not enough to completely damage it. Some drives are more susceptible. It's possible yours is a bit more finiky.
