Q2010 -> Q2013 upgrade

Any known issues or problems updating Q2010 to Q2013? (Deluxe). I will be forced to update by April, so just what to know if anyone has had any issues.

I only do basic things and no real investments beyond a few CD's and

401K.

I just downloaded Quicken 2013 Deluxe from Intuit with a $10 off offer I received in the mail. I had Quicken 2010 Premier and went to the 2013 Deluxe without any problems. I am using a loaner computer currently that is old with only 512 MB RAM. I've gotten some "not enough memory" errors because the minimum requirement is 1GB RAM for Quicken 2013. I have had no other problems. The program has worked flawlessly - just a tad slow due to the insufficient memory. :-)

I made the same upgrade between Christmas and New Year in response to a half-off from Intuit email offer. The D/L and install were easy, and operation in the 2 weeks since have been flawless. I admit that is a short test, but I've found nothing that does not work as expected. I have over 10 years of transaction history for various banks, mutual fund accounts, credit suppliers, and a brokerage. I download updates every day.

I probably would have waited till closer to the actual sunset on 2010, but admit I was prodded by the great deal. I received less attractive deal offers from Intuit since then. I guess their email marketing database hasn't been updated to reflect I succumbed to an earlier offer.

I was prompted about the update when Quicken mailed me a '2013 Upgrade CD'. I waited until today's backup to see about installing it. I thought it would have some protected install that would start once I gave it some code after buying it.

NOPE.

The setup and install program just links to the ordering or download logins on-line. Since I ordered a CD instead of download (same price), I have to wait a few days for it now. Why can't they still let you download it, with the CD as a master backup???

I did download the stupid Willmaker that I will never use.

Why do so many people these days have so much of a problem with DELAYED GRATIFICATION? The earth will not end if you have to wait several days before installing 2013 Quicken. In the meantime your current version will work just fine!

I was mainly complaining about Intuit's insanity of wasting money materials on a physical CD that is little more than an automated link to their web site. They could have simply sent a simple postcard with the links!!

Regarding the original topic, so far the only thing that bugs me is the check register font size. Even changing to ARIAL 8, it is still huge, and I don;t seem to be able to make it any sn=maller so I can get more on the screen.

Anyone else bothered by this "feature"?

I do get your point, Andrew. If one has already made the purchase, why NOT give them immediate access! Not hard to tell that Intuit realizes that they have little competition in this field of software.

I've not seen any change in the check register font in the last 3 or 4 versions. Mine is set to Tahoma 8 on a 24" 1920x180 LCD and looks fine.

Just what competition is there? Does Money (I know it's been canceled for a few years) still support on-line downloads, or has that been finally disabled? Is there any real competition?
