with the recent track record, just wondering how R8 is doing :)

1st try at installation on request in Quicken - failed. Next time, worked just fine. Seem to be working ok now - no problems (yet!).
Same here. First try from OSU failed. Second try from manually downloaded patch worked fine. Bit unnerving to see all the warnings about data corruption though...
Mine fails repeatedly. Now Quicken Deluxe desktop won't finish opening whether I accept or refuse the update. Help!
How and where to manually download the patch?
I found the site but did not help:
The automatic update failed repeatedly. I kept getting popups telling me Q has detected that a download was made, did I want to install it. Whether I said yes or no, Quicken refuses to open up after asking for my password.
I did the manual update: identical
I downloaded and ran the Mundo update: identical.
Now I cannot get Quicken Deluxe 2014 to open all the way at all.
They really screwed up.
Are you running Q2014, as this message indicates, or Q2015? The thread is about an issue that's particular to Q2015 and doesn't happen in Q2014.
FWIW, I installed Q15/R8 a couple of days ago, and unlike R7, it went in on the first time and so far, no problems. Just sayin'.

Updated to R8 manually from downloaded patch file. Had also downloaded Mond o patch but didn't need it.
For those planning to do this, after reading about freezes, password proble ms and other issues in previous releases (R6, R7), BEFORE I patched to R8, I ....
- Made a Quicken backup (added to previous automatic ones on mirrored HDD) .
- Made a volume data backup (actually waited for daily data backup to exte rnal storage)
- Set a new system restore point
- Made a disk image backup of my PC (actually, waited for the automatic sy stem backup I run every week, with five previous backups, to external stora ge)
... AND ONLY THEN, applied the R8 patch.
No problems. BTW - yes, off topic but mobile syncs caused many problems wit h R7 - I have started to use Quicken Mobile by setting up "cash" accounts r epresenting real cash, banking & credit card accounts, into which I can lat er copy transactions (thank you, John Pollard old entry on effecting import s of QIF files) entered on the road.

I d/l it twice, error msg said "sorry we cannot complete the download, try again later"
