Quicken patch quality getting worse

My recent experience with Quicken Premier updates.

R6: Fail on first try. I manually deleted some files and tried again. Success.

R7: Fail on first try. Succeeded on second try.

R8: Fail on first and second tries. I resorted to downloading the mondo patch. Success.

Bad show Intuit. I have not had these sorts of problems for many years.

Same experience here. I have been following the R7 password issue on the Quicken support forum. For a couple of days it said they were working on a fix but assured us that all our data was safe; now that the fix is available, they tell us we have to go to out last good backup to recover, that it will not be possible to unlock the files that have been locked by the password problem in R8. And the text about our data being safe is gone from their previous postings.

Makes me think about moving over to a competitor. Oh, wait...

It's not just the patches.

Quicken 2014 started the significant downtrend in quality for Quicken.
