Quickbooks really that behind?

When loading QuickBooks on XP, I discovered it would not work unless the user was an administrator. So I searched the web and it seems that there are kluges to work around the issue but no real fix. It is hard to believe that a standard application that doesn't need to be part of the system (like a firewall, anti-virus, registry fixer, etc) would need to be run as administrator. Are the people at Intuit really that far out in space?

They are probably no further out in space than you who posts a Quickbooks question in the Quicken forum when there is a perfectly functional Quickebooks forum out there.

Sorry. In the old days there was no separate forum. I'm not a QuickBooks person. Just helping a volunteer-run museum upgrade to XP. I'll find the right forum.

And Mike, what would that be? It would help John if you could point him to it!
