Quicken 2005 on Mac - cannot open data file.

I'm moving from one computer to another, and in the process am upgrading from Mac OS X 10.3.9 (Panther) to 10.4.2 (Tiger). I've searched this group and Google in general and have not found anyone reporting that Quicken 2005 does not work for them on Tiger, but that seems to be the case for me.

Quicken on both systems has been upgraded to R2, and I have verified that the About links both say so. On the new system, trying to open either the data file or the latest backup give the error "Unable to load file". No more information given.

Any suggestions? Quickbooks, which I also moved, is working fine. My CPA would love it if I moved our personal file back to Quickbooks... maybe the universe is trying to tell me something. :)

thanks,

I found a post elsewhere online that solved my problem. I use rsync to an external drive to back up my system, and when moving to a new one I just moved the drive and copied files from it. Apparently this was not good enough for Quicken; rsync does not preserve resource forks and Quicken stores necessary data in there. I put the file on a CD from my old system and copied that over and it opens up just fine.

FYI for the next person who comes searching for this problem!
