Quicken 2005 - Reconcile problem

Apr 20, 2005 2 Replies

I've been using Quicken for years and this is a new problem for me. When I reconcile with my online statement, it says that I am $140 off even though the register matches the latest online balance. Therefore, in order to have the latest downloaded entries show that they were reconciled, I have to let Quicken make an adjustment of $140 which I delete right afterwards. I know what this $140 is and when the problem occurred. I manually changed the status of an entry to reconciled one month and apparently Quicken didn't like that.

Is there any fix for this problem?

Try changing that particular entry to 'c' (Cleared) and then reconcile again.

I had a similar problem when reconciling with the bank statement. There were records marked as reconciled (R) even though they had not been reconciled previously by me. So I deleted a group of transactions and re-entered them in the check register. After re-running the reconciliation, the were no longer any differences.
