Can I download data from my brokerage account using quicken 2007 basic or just from banks ?

they seem to be purposely slimey vague about this on their website. I'm sure they want to sucker people in to the next version up if they can.

thank you

In general, Yes, but it depends on your brokerage house. I have Charles Schwab and I download directly into Quicken without any problems.

Check the availability of your brokerage firm, here:

Basic is no different from other versions with respect to downloading capability - bank accounts, regular brokerage accounts, credit cards, etc. - with the following exception.

Basic does not include QW's specific version of the 401k account - I used a tax-deferred brokerage account for this in the past. Not sure about the ability to download a brokerage 401k into a QW tax-deferred brokerage - downloading was not available from the FI at the time.

I have successfully downloaded a brokerage IRA account into a QW tax- deferred brokerage account - I did not use QW's specific IRA account type - no problems.
