Am I still correct that DeLuxe will do everything it used to do in Q2008? Especially with regard to stocks etc.

"Saves you time by importing transactions.
You can import your data (from participating financial institutions) right into Quicken 2010 - three years of data downloads included2. "

Your FI has to participate (means they have to pay a fee). After 3 years a particular version of Quicken will not do online stuff anymore. I don't know exactly when Q2007 will not do online stuff anymore, but I would venture that Q2006 doesn't work anymore, or will really soon stop working.

For some time now, Intuit has disabled downloading of transactions and security prices after 3 years. The software will continue to work - just no downloads.

Intuit "sunsets" the oldest version in the Spring. Support for 2006 ended last May (or April). 2007 will get sunsetted this coming Spring.

So, does that mean one can still save a QFX file from a financial web site and then import that file into Quicken? i.e., it's just the so- called "one-step-update" that will no longer work?

Han, In spite of Intuit's tendency to confuse capabilities in their advertising, perhaps to up-sell their product, Quicken Deluxe 2010 provides the same capabilities for tracking stocks, mutual funds, etc from financial institutions as it has for QD 2009, 2008, 2007, . . . I took advantage of the Dell offer you spotted and upgraded from QD 2007 two weeks ago. All my investment accounts, 401k accounts, IRA accounts transferred perfectly cleanly and all my downloaded transactions from various banks, Fidelity, and Vanguard continued via One Step as they have for pretty many years.
This is another good deal, in fact, it sort of looks like a desperation end of year sale to clean up Intuit financials.
Good luck, health, and happiness in 2010! Jere

No, you don't need to get Intuit's credit card for the 50% off. I just downloaded 2010 Premier last night on my regular visa. It's also available on cd.

Thanks, Jere, that is what I thought, but you're right, Intuit is trying to get you to upgrade to a higher capable version. I just might go from
08 to 10 deluxe.Bets wishes for a healthy and prosperous year, with many mre to follow!

Read the EULA. What you can do and what you are agreeing to do are two different things.

Does the software have an activation code or a serial number?

Which says more about you than the EULA...
