Thanks. It worked.

Has anyone seen a similar deal on TurboTax?

Not for me; I'm never offered a spot to enter a coupon code, either by following the link in the newsgroup post or going to intuit.com directly.

I first tried clearing cookies, then tried using Internet Explorer instead of Firefox, but no difference.

Could it be because I'm entering a userid as a returning customer?

I was not logged into Intuit and I see the box for the coupon code when I go to my shopping cart. Try logging out of Intuit and clear your browser cache & cookies so that Intuit does not recognize you. Or use a different browser.

Clearing all the cookies with "intuit" or "quicken" or even "turbotax" in them didn't do the job, nor did using a different browser or not logging in with my Quicken ID.

I finally got it done by using another PC which had never connected to the Intuit Web site. I guess they hide the info in some non-obvious cookie.

Anyway, thanks to the OP for the info which saved me $30.

Thanks so much for the tip, Hank!

I was not going to upgrade from Q2010 since the lowest price I had seen last time I checked was $50 for Deluxe.

For $30, I was willing to upgrade.

Even though I only just installed it, I like it better than Q2010 already - with the larger bolder type at the top of the register letting you easily see which one you have open.

That little square box with the small faint type and several lines of text in Q2010 did not immediately register (excuse the pun) on my eyes as to which account I was currently in.

Firefox, BTW, choked on me, too, Bert. It's been acting a bit quirky of late (version 3.6.13), freezing randomly. Chrome gave me no problems.
