It appears that Intuit finally did something to assuage Mac users.
Last month, they released a new Mac version.

I don't plan to install it yet (it doesn't do bill pay & I don't want to do that thru my bank), but its got some significant improvements over Essentials (like investment tracking & cap gains reports).
