Quicken loading old transactions

This AM Quicken (2013 Premier) said it had an update which I installed. When I restarted Quicken I see that there are now hundreds of "new" transactions in several accounts. All these trans have been reconciled. Some date back to 1997.

Aside from deleting each one manually, is there a way I can make these go away?

Intuit is aware of the problem caused by installing R9.

To delete multiple investment transactions at one time:

1.) Accept the transactions. 2.) Create a Banking > Transactions report. 3.) Customize the report to remove as many transactions as possible that you do NOT want to delete. 4.) Select the transactions you want to delete, in the report, as you would select multiple files in Windows Explorer. 5.) Click the "Edit" button (in the report) and select "Delete transaction(s)".

I would backup first. Ideally, you also have a backup from before installing R9.

For my bank & credit card accounts, first I reconciled the accounts so all the real transactions showed "R". Then I accepted the old transactions. They showed up as "c". I sorted by cleared status then deleted the "c"s a la Windows Explorer.

Unfortunately my investment accounts don't allow block deletes so I deleted them one at a time from the Downloaded Transactions window.

Still no idea why they suddenly appeared.

They do if you delete them using the Banking > Transaction report as I suggested.
