Reconcile Question

I haven't reconciled my checkbook with Quicken 6 (yes, I like the older version) since January 2000. I'd like to start doing it now, but I'd like to begin reconciling starting in Oct 2004. When going into the reconcile feature, would I be correct in putting a checkmark by all debits and credits going back to 2000 and then entering the closing balance as of Oct 31, 2004...and when I'm finished, let Quicken make an adjustment for the difference in balance? This would take all the old entries out of the reconcile feature. Would this bring me up to date without having to reconcile each month for the last four years?

Thanks! Scott

You are not obliged to reconcile "each month" (or in one month increments); you can make your first reconcile "period" be four years, then subsequent reconcile "periods" can be for any other length you like.

What I should have added was, "in other words, yes, to your question".
