Redistributing 401k Assets

I have a 401k with assets spread out over 5 different securities. I am about to redistribute the assets (ie go from a 60%-10-10-10-10 to

20%-20-20-20-20).

I could simply sell and buy shares to create the new distribution, but then Quicken would show all kinds of realized gains that weren't really realized since it is a retirement account.

Is there a way to do this without showing a realized gain? Or is that something I actually don't want to do?

Thanks in advance.

You should do it with Sell/Buy transactions.

Yes, you will have capital gains/losses but these are not taxable and are not reported to the IRS. The capital gains are treated just like any dividend/interest income in your account - this income is sheltered from current taxes.

You will get your chance to pay the taxes when you retire and start making with-drawals [as I am doing :
