Reports mangled as attachments

I printed a rent report as Ascii file, and sent it as an attachment. It printed the report in two lumps: lump 1: all but the last 2 columns with $ amounts that were thus missing, then lump 2:the $ amount part in 2 columns underneath as a page 2. No line item was complete. Opening the report in Word did not offer any means of rectifying the situation. Therefore the report is useless. There must be some solution. I next tried squeezing some columns in the Quicken screen, but the .txt file is kind of run together, again, barely usable. Help. John Polasek

I would suggest printing it to a PDF file (I use CutePDF, one of the many free ones available). You didn't say what version you are using, so these steps (I use Q XG 2007) may not apply exactly to you, but here's how I do it:

File > Print >Preview (to make sure it looks the way you want). "Print" to CutePDF (in your list of printers). It asks for a name for the .pdf file it will produce. Send said file as an attachment, which can be viewed by recipient using (for example) free Adobe Acrobat reader.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, it worked in Q2005. I print it to PDFredirect (no preview option) and then proceeding carefully, have a chance to name the file and it is directly available as a .pdf for emailing. I appreciate it. John Polasek

Still in Quicken: I select printer (CutePDF Writer), click Preview (button is at bottom left of same window ), _then_ click "Print" while on "Zoom Into Preview" window to send to pdf.
