Rights issue - Q06 Dlx R3

Jan 10, 2006 2 Replies

(Running on Win2000 Service Pack 4 with latest updates.)

Today - as Administrator - installed Q06 Dlx Release R3 upgrade (from Q04 Dlx). I can run Quicken 06 R3 and download from FIs without problems.

As Power User, can run Quicken 06 R3, but when attempting FI downloads, Windows Installer kicks off trying to set up Quicken and process evolves quickly through couple of error screens with Quicken shut down. End result is that on restarting Quicken, error message indicates program may have been corrupted and asks that Quicken be reinstalled. Error message points out data is OK, but program is not.

As Power User I am Owner of data files, and have Full Control - equivalent to Administrator - over those data files and data folders. Seems I am missing something here.

P.S.: DID NOT RUN INTO THIS PROBLEM when upgrading to Q04 Dlx from Q02 Dlx.

Help, please.

Thanks

Jay

I had the same problem under Windows XP Pro. I solved the problem by copying the Quicken disk to my hard drive and then installing from there. Then, when I ran in a non-administrator account, Quicken seemed to find the additional install files and ran fine after that.

Thanks!! Your solution worked in my case. I will erase the CD image next backup time.
