Just read the email that one of my clients received from Quicken where Eric extols the virtues of "Simplifi", referencing the NY Times article in their blogpost

I certainly wish them well in this app, but if I wanted a mobile finance app, I would have been using the mobile version of Quicken which I never had a desire to do.

I hope this isn't the opening salvo to the ultimate stabilization of Quicken on the PC or MAC platform in lieu of a mobile app that I will not be terribly happy with.

Comments?

I do not have a finance program on my cell and never will. I do have a Yahoo stock tracking program, however it contains no share amounts.

Me too on both. I use the 'My Stocks Profile abd Widget' app on the Android from Peeksoft. I too only keep the single share price I bought each stock at, no absolute amounts. Amd apparently like you, I don't want that to be my main platform for finance considerations.

From the description provided, it looks more like a subset of Quicken, focused just on budgeting. Maybe that's the market these days. I'm just happy they've found a way to sustain Quicken for the time being. Users of desktop/laptop apps must be few and far between these days.
