Download transactions working once then have to quit and restart

A successful Update Now for an investment financial institution will prevent any subsequent Update Now for a different investment financial institution from succeeding (*).
The fact that something is wrong is apparent before the "update" finishes. Normally the first thing you see when initiating an Update Now (ignoring the dialog to enter the Password Vault password), is a "One Step Update Settings" dialog (in which you click the "Update Now" button to get the update started).
With this bug, the "One Step Update Settings" dialog never appears, and the "update" appears to begin ... with no more input from the user.
You can see more evidence of this bug by looking at Help > Log Files > Connection Log. The most recent update attempt will be at the end of the Connection log file. And instead of having one or more records indicating that Quicken is "Sending" to the financial institution, preceded by a "Mini-OSU Start" record and followed by a "Mini-OSU End" record; all you will see are the "Mini-OSU Start" and "Mini-OSU End" records ... with no Sending records in between.
[The original poster finally figured out that initiating a One Step Update works (updates all accounts enabled for downloading) works, where an Update Now immediately following another Update now does not. Which triggers the question: why was the op using Update Now in the first place?]
[ (*) It's not always necessary to exit and restart Quicken to get a second investment financial institution Update Now to succeed: each successful Update Now for a NON-investment financial institution, will allow the user to do one more successful Update Now for an investment financial institution ... without exiting and restarting Quicken.

[Also note: where it says "investment financial institution" above; it refers to an investment financial institution plus a specific user-id/password at that financial institution. If you have more than one account at the same financial institution, all the accounts with the same user-id/password at that financial institution will be updated in a single Update Now. If there are other accounts at the same financial institution with a different user-id/password, those accounts would need a separate Update Now to be updated.]
